TYPE 1

This shape offers a deeper “rocking chair” radius. This radius gives the wire more force in curve of spee correction. TYPE 1 exerts more force when correcting severe curve of spee cases.

TYPE 5

The TYPE 5 is the arch of choice for tilting back the molars for anchorage purposes. It maintains uprighted molars while using auxiliary arches or nitinol retraction springs for the cuspids and is excellent for lower anterior teeth intrusion and leveling the occlusal plane.

Thermadent arches are pliable at room temperature and stiffer at body temperature (Martensitic). New Thermadent Niti wires have a higher transition temperture which make them softer during ligating.
