The truly unique Mono appliance has been designed specifically for one-sided treatment. This new appliance consists of the adjustable COMBIquick® Headgear and the Mono Module (J-Hook by Dr. Hickman). Forces from 20 to 2,000 grams may be applied to just one side of the arch wire, or to a single tooth.

The Mono appliance can be used in cases with distilization, for mid-line correction, class II, or for gaining space on just one side of the dental arch. It also can be used for single side anchorage or unilateral intrusion or extrusion of the teeth (occlusal plane correction). As the Mono appliance is premounted with elastics, this headgear can be explained and handed to the patient within two to three minutes.

The Mono appliance can be set for either the left or right side.
