Description
This is a straight-wire type bracket for the lower incisors. The occlusal slot wall is shortened by approximately 50 percent, and the incisal walls are reduced to a minimum.
Characteristic
Due to the special form of the incisal parts, the 3/4 bracket can be fixed in an overbite situation space restraints do not allow this with a conventional bracket. Furthermore, the 3/4 bracket can be placed more incisally on a short clinical crown or in a normal overbite situation.
Advantages
The 3/4 bracket is ready to be fixed on a deep overbite and small overjet. It is thus possible to include the lower incisors in the treatment at an earlier stage, in turn reducing tooth movement. The option to place the bracket more incisally facilitates better leveling thereby increasing the efficiency of the appliance. An additional advantage is lower shearing forces, which results in fewer repairs and less chair time.
